Dateline Fondy Market

I am still working on setting up this page and for that matter the whole thing

This morning I took the Nikon to the Fondy Market.  Fourth time there and the second time that I shot.  Two times I went and had no vendors or just one. It has been a tough spring for those of us who farm.  Very wet and cool for the longest time.  Just cool  so things were not freezing but slow growing once the planting was done.  then a heat wave.  Temp shooting in the high 80's and dry then another shock back to the cool wet weather.

Well, today more vendors.  Took the camera out and went to several vendorsI would talk to them for a few minutes before I took photos  They started to ignore me.  That is what I want.  I will head back on Sunday for more.  Looking forward to next Saturday.   Hoping they will have seen enough of me that they will completley ingore me and I will bet better photos

Moving On

So only my fourth post and already I say moving . yesterday Joel started helping me with the 2.0 version of the gordonWerner Fine Arts photo Web Page. I hope to keep posting for a time here.  this last week an online neighborhood group that I belonged to and recuted some of the first people has become a hate Tom Barrett love the carry the gun and a criminal around every corner. I dropped out of the group. looking a lot less at Facebook and Huffington Post.   I am going to concentrate on photography and my website.  Way too many angry people who have come to believe by allowing people that look different or act differently to have equal rights is diminishing their rights.

This week it is time to give a shout out to The Big Easy.  the are the first city to remove the statues of the confederate traitors from the city streets. if you book or go on vacation remember to let them know that was a good thing.

So back to some good stuff we had Bluemel's help us with our yard and some plants. Kathy and I are very happy with the results.  Rose is not so happy.  placed sod in the spot she made her turn. now we have small fences so she can not do that.

this week plant some flowers and as the very old saying from the 60's . Make Love Not War.

..................Dateline backyard

Well, the WEB Site is just three weeks old and I am only attempting to write my third Blog. Today after hours and hours of working on it and have let three people view it today. My next project for this site is to add pages to my gallery.  I will be separating my photos into several different segments.   My Milwaukee, Lake Superior region, Driftless Wisconsin, Just Because, Wildlife, and finally backyard friends.

MY Milwaukee:  This could be the sunrise at the Main Gap, under the bridge and showing two lighthouses.  Maybe Jazz in the park. Who knows.

Lake Superior Region:  Minnesota, including the boundary waters, Michigan and northern Wisconsin.  Water Falls, rivers, commercial fishing, Fall colors.  Small towns falling down and apart to small towns that get together and pull themselves up.  The great example of that is Calumet Michigan.  No more copper mining but they refuse to die. Great place to vacation

In a few days when I start to upload more of my photos, I will do some more explaining.  The last item of interest if only to me is that I am writing this outside of my house in my backyard with boss Rose.

May 8, 2017 ..........Date Line UP Michigan

Day three of our spring trek to Lake Superior. The second attempt at publishing a blog.  Last year it was in the 80's this year high 30 to the very low 50's . This year we will be concentrating our time in the Keweenaw area.  A few waterfalls a few small streams and some forest.  This is old Copper country.  it is also pastie country . They say no on could make them as good as a Copper Miner's wife.

Today we stopped in L'Anse for a coffee to go and then headed off to our destination of Calumet a city we discovered yesterday.  It is a great place.  Like many cities in this post-industrial era, it is struggling. it is on the rebound.  Many new small businesses. An artist community. I had a great time photographing old buildings.  Stopped at the old railroad station.  Lots of work going on. I was taking photos outside of the building when a gentleman came out and I starting asking question. Come to discover the Township of Calumet is redoing the building. He invited me in to take photos. Kathy and I spent an hour taking photos. Jim, the one-man construction crew asked me to come back June 3rd for a fundraiser.   As I get better at posting through the blog I will post more details.

Right now Kathy is off to the Casino. I am not a gambler but she has so go for it. She is very supportive of my "artistic" bad habits. Like getting up early in the morning at 4:30 to take sunrise pictures.  Many times she will have to sit in the car for an hour while I take the picture and when I get home I throw it out.  Never says a nasty word. she smiles when I get short with her and it has nothing to do with her. I missed a turn and she gets the short end of the stick Today she was a great help in Calumet.

I will close this one by asking you and your friends to stay in contact so that you will be up to date on this project and the City of Calumet.  if you are traveling up north this year stop into Calumet.   See what a city can do.

May 3, 2017

Can anything be the beginning when you are 69+ years old?  Even though I tried to write one before I am still saying this is the beginning.  Just like today is the first day of the rest of your life.   The first time I tried to be relevant to the going on's of the day and the week it usually was stuff that made me angry.  This time I am going to write about what I see and feel . is it relevant to me or you?  Most likely no but it will be what I am thinking of at the moment.

Some of you that know me may be surprised at how little  you really do know about me.  I do hope that you will enjoy looking at the photographs you will find on this site.    After all that what the site is for.  The photos will say more than my words.

Before I go much further I do need to thank my parents for making me the crazy person I am. Both products of the great depression. Shirley the first to go to college a woman who never had a chance to live her dreams.  I believe she sacrificed a lot for her husband, Harvey, and her family. For a couple of years took the bus from Random Lake to Elkhart Lake to teach school while her husband worked his / their store.  Harvey loved his store.  He loved interacting with the people in the community. When I say that I do believe he would have been happier if he had been a commercial artist.so now I am learning how to do this. I am not sure Shirley would have understood this or for that matter anything else I have done.   saying all that they never discouraged me from being crazy.  When I came home from Layton School of Art never complained about the long hair and the beard. When I told them I was working never a word of horror and shock.  So I do thank them for all that.  I was not a very good older brother to Lynette and Blaine but they at least still talk to me.

To wrap this up for today I ask you to please check back from time to time to look for different photos and more ramblings relevant or irrelevant and shoot me an email if you like
